Includes constitution, bylaws, and amendments of the Phi Alpha Society, a literary society.

 Abstract:  The Solomon Schechter Day School, now known as the Gross Schechter Day School, of Cleveland, Ohio (f. 1980) is a day school affiliated with the Conservative movement of Judaism for children from preschool through the eighth grade. Founded as the Jewish Day School Association of Cleveland in 1980, the Solomon Schechter Day School was originally located at the Beth Am Congregation in Cleveland Heights, but moved several times to accommodate a growing student population, starting with just fifteen students at its inception. Now the Gross Schechter Day School, the institution is currently housed in Pepper Pike and serves nearly 260 students. The collection consists of calendars, correspondence, flyers, lists, manuals, newsletters, and programs published by the Solomon Schechter Day School for its students, parents, and the public.

 Abstract:  The Mittleberger School was a private school organized in 1877 in Cleveland, Ohio. It served female students, including many from outside of Cleveland, from kindergarten to college level until it closed in 1908. The collection consists of daily attendance and grade reports and other records. Includes record books (1895-1908) of the Happy Thought Society; physical records of the students (1892-1902); and registers for the primary grade (1897-1908).

 Abstract:  The Cleveland Bureau of Jewish Education was organized in 1924 as the coordinating agency for the following Jewish educational institutions in the Greater Cleveland , Ohio, area: Cleveland Hebrew Schools, Hebrew Academy, United Jewish Religious Schools, Institute of Jewish Studies, Workmen's Circle School, and Yeshivath Adath B'nai Israel. The collection consists of minutes, reports, budgets, and correspondence. The bulk of the collection is from 1960-1970, allowing the researcher to study the effects of rapid secularization and assimilation within the Cleveland, Ohio Jewish community and the efforts by community institutions responding to these forces. Notable documentation on the Cleveland Hebrew Schools, Cleveland College of Jewish Studies, Hebrew Academy, and the Jewish Community Federation is included in these records.
